This Privacy Policy explains how Vastranand Private Limited (“Vastranand”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data through vastranand.io. It covers visits to the website and job applications made through it, including our AI-assisted recruitment. Our online store, vastranand.in, and our apps have their own policies.
Who is responsible for your data
Vastranand Private Limited (CIN U18109GJ2022PTC135289), registered office Plot No. 998, Road No. 87, G.I.D.C. Sachin, Surat, Gujarat 394230, India, decides how your data is used. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) we are the Data Fiduciary; under the UK GDPR we are the controller.

Visiting the website
vastranand.io does not ask for personal information to browse it, does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Our hosting provider (Firebase Hosting, run by Google) processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the service. When you open the Careers or Blog pages, your browser also reads job openings and articles from our own server, api-engage.vastranand.com, which receives the same technical data.
Job applications
When you apply for a role we collect: your full name, email, phone number, city, experience, your optional cover note, your CV (PDF) and your consent. If you are invited to an online first round, we also collect your answers and the language you chose. If you are interviewed later, our team records its notes and scores.
We use this data only to assess your application for the role you applied for, to contact you about it and to keep a record of our hiring decisions. We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit the form. In the UK, we also rely on our legitimate interest in recruiting the right people and on taking steps at your request before entering into an employment contract.
How we use AI in recruitment
- CV review. We take the text out of your CV on our own server and remove your name, email, web addresses, phone, Aadhaar, bank, PAN and IFSC numbers. An AI model then summarises your skills and experience and suggests how well they fit the role. The CV file itself is never sent to the AI.
- Online first round. For some roles we may invite you to answer 5 to 15 questions through a private link, in English, Gujarati or Hindi. The AI scores each answer against the role's expected answer and suggests a next step.
- A person decides. The AI only makes suggestions. Our hiring team reviews them and makes every decision; the AI never selects or rejects anyone on its own. The AI is instructed never to consider gender, age, religion, caste, family, health, disability, marital status, pregnancy, nationality, region or accent.
The AI never receives your name, phone, email, city or photo. You may ask for a person to review your application without the AI's suggestions by emailing contact@vastranand.in.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it for us under contract:
- Google (Firebase Hosting), which hosts the website;
- Amazon Web Services, which stores CVs in private storage.
- Anthropic, which provides the AI model (Claude) used in recruitment, in the United States;
- Provider and Country of the server that runs api-engage.vastranand.com and its database.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside India and the UK. “Where UK GDPR applies, we take steps to ensure your data is protected when it is transferred outside the UK.”
How long we keep your data
A job application, its CV, interview answers and AI review are kept for one year from the day you apply and then deleted automatically. You can ask us to delete them earlier.
How we protect your data
CVs are kept in private storage that is not publicly accessible, the website is served only over HTTPS, and only authorised staff can see applications. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used, ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it, withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing already done), nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated, and raise a grievance with us. If we do not resolve your grievance, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Under the UK GDPR you may also object to processing, ask us to restrict it, ask for a copy of your data in a portable format, and not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
To use any right, email contact@vastranand.in from the address you applied with. We will verify your identity and reply within 30 days.
Children
Our roles are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
